Fondant Art Exhibition

Current Exhibition, Learn More: Fondant Art Exhibition | MGM COTAI

Fondant Art Exhibition at MGM COTAI is a permanent exhibition of originality and innovative concepts, co-created by MGM and China’s “Sugar King” Zhou Yi, showcasing his first solo exhibition of fondant sculptures, embodying his commitment to promoting traditional Chinese craftsmanship and intangible cultural heritage by integrating Western techniques. It breaks conventional exhibition norms by using modern methods to reinterpret Chinese festivals, rituals, and folk life, merging art with daily life and revitalizing traditional Chinese culture.

The exhibition boldly integrates food techniques such as dough modeling, fondant art, and artistic methods like painting, spray painting and sculpting. It features five over two-meter-tall fondant sculptures exclusive to Macau and MGM, interpreting themes of "auspiciousness" and "courtesy" in traditional Chinese culture. Highlights include the "Three Books and Six Rites," "Filial Piety," and Lingnan customs such as "Lion Dance" and "Culture of Yum Cha," inviting audiences to explore the charm of intangible cultural heritage and creating a brand-new cultural tourism experience.
